The Contract Senior Technical Recruiter will be responsible for passive recruiting, screening resumes from open job postings, interviewing and recommending qualified candidates for some of our more senior level hires. This position will be based in either our Edmonton, Alberta or Lakewood, CO office, This position will be contracted for a 3 to 6-month period and can work a part-time to full-time flexible schedule. There will typically be between 5 to 7 senior-level professional and technical position openings at all times, including Senior Project Managers, Senior Technical Consultants, and Senior Software Developers.
Understand the corporate values and philosophy and apply them to all HR initiatives
Achieve staffing objectives by recruiting and evaluating job candidates, advising managers, managing relocations and intern programs
Use creative sourcing strategies to find and maintain an effective pool of candidates (i.e., direct sourcing/social media/research/networks etc.)
Execute recruiting activity to find qualified passive candidates
Keep a respectable pipeline of recruits and be effective in coordinating selection
Consult with hiring managers regarding strategic recruitment to ensure understanding of recruiting requirements and to build a recruiting and interviewing plan for each open position
Perform in-depth pre-screening of potential candidates and make recommendations for next steps
Coordinate with HR leadership for next step initial interviews
Keep HR leadership updated on the status of all potential and interviewed candidates
May conducts reference checks
Keep all interviewed candidates up-to-date on the status of their interview and dispositions candidates appropriately
Update candidate status in our Applicant Tracking System
Critical Skills and Capabilities Needed for Success:
Minimum of 5 years of proven successful technical recruiting experience
Minimum of 3 years of successful passive technical recruiting experience
Proven results in developing and executing passive sourcing strategies including, but not limited to, LinkedIn Recruiter, Social Media, Technical Sites, Job Boards, Networking, Event Participation, Referrals.
Solid ability to conduct behavioral interviews
Hands-on experience with various selection processes (phone interviewing, reference check, etc.)
Deep knowledge of the recruitment market(s) in either a specific geography or functional area
Familiarity with applicant tracking systems
Strong relationship building skills
Deep level of genuine care and respect for people and their potential
Proven ability to take initiative
Must be able to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Good planning, organizational, and time management skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite products
